This congregation was originally established in November of 1969 as a conservative, pentecostal, denominational church, called Western Hills Apostolic. From it’s humble beginnings on Boudinot Ave in Cincinnati, Rev. & Mrs. Price went to great lengths to forge true personal relationships with the individuals and families they were charged to lead and shepherd. Nearly 3 years after it began, the Price’s (with two daughters and two sons) purchased over 26 acres in Monfort Heights on Boomer Road. In 1975, they dedicated a new building on the property and further purposed the land and building to be used for the Kingdom of God.
In 1989, as Pastor Price read John 10:10, he felt compelled to re-name our church to reflect this awesome promise from Christ, and to expand our vision into servant outreach as never before: Abundant Life Ministries would never be the same!
We have experienced our share of Godly process…some disappointment….even trial by fire. But God has always been faithful! Throughout Rev. E.V. Price’s Pastoral Leadership, he was constantly able to pour his life out in Christian service and sacrifice for the good of God’s Kingdom. It was ALL to empower a remnant Body of Christ. (In addition to Pastor Price’s call to the full-time leadership of this assembly, he also worked another full-time position at Proctor & Gamble Ivorydale, as a general laborer for over 30 years!)
We firmly believe that because of the unshakable faithfulness in every area of their lives, that we are now able to enjoy the fruit of this labor in the provision of God’s reward! We are now experiencing a tremendous influx of growth, powerful revelation and covenant relationship across denominational lines, and we owe it all entirely to God and His wonderful servants who he brought to the West side of Cincinnati, Pastor & Mrs. Eugene V. Price. During all of these years we have had MANY wonderful friends, fellow ministers and servants, as well as faithful partners who have all played a part in helping us to be defined as the church we have become, in God’s perfect timing and will. The best days are yet to come as a REMNANT SEED OF GOD COMES TO MATURE GROWTH AND IS MANIFEST IN THE EARTH!
In January of 1997, Pastor Price appointed his two sons to Co-Pastor with him and he then became Senior Pastor and Overseer. All of the responsibilities of ministry, both happiness and sadness, have been shared together as multifaceted experiences and reference points to give us clarity in revelation and understanding of God‘s powerful covenant He has with His Body. It can never be broken! In fact, Christ’s prayer continues to be through this day, “…..that they may be One.”
In August of 2002, after a 7 month illness, our faithful Pastor, Eugene V. Price, was called home to be with Jesus. Of course, he will never be replaced or forgotten because his fingerprints are on every aspect of this ministry, in the past, present and always will be a voice for our future!
In November of 2002, his oldest son, Rev. William E. Price was unanimously elected to succeed his father as full-time pastor. In January of 2003, Pastor Billy Price resigned from his position as a contractor for FedEx after nearly 15 years. Since that time, this Body has experienced amazing biblical principles and a tremendous movement of God through prayer and fasting, while operating within all of giftings of The Holy Spirit!
The many details of our history are impossible to communicate entirely, but the present and the future has never been more powerful. Although our history cannot be adequately explained, there is absolutely no doubt that the foundation of God is established and sure--and we will continue to be led by God’s Written and Spirit Word, Jesus Christ our Lord!
